Auwe!

Aloha: It does not take long to get out of the habit. I forgot to post today. Just forgot all about it. I see that two of my followers have posted today. One a pretty picture and the other a funny picture. They are just showing off because they know I am challenged when it comes to this technology stuff.

How about a story from our latest travels. When we got home from our trip the plane flew over Hilo to land at the airport. Taxied to the end of the runway, turned around and come back to the gate. At the far end of the gates was a large plane with about 20 armed guards all around the plane, facing the plane. There were also several cars with flashing lights on the taxiway. When we got off I asked one of the airport security guards what was going on and was told that it was a prison plane and that it had developed problems and that it had been diverted to Hilo for repair. I guess that all the prisoners were on board as a plane that size could hold maybe 200 and Hilo would not have any place to keep that many people locked up.

Weather and Volcano reports are the same as yesterday. SOS.

How about the dust-up between the Speaker and the CIA? Obama's CIA director, Panetta, just about called the Speaker a lair. Any comments????

Guess who is back?

Aloha: Well, I am back. Denver is a very nice place. I have found that most places I have gone to are quite nice. The heart of Denver is the 16th street mall. Only special buses are allowed on the mall. Well, not quite. there were rickshaws and horse drawn carriages. A lot of places to eat at very reasonable prices, which was quite a surprise. Every restaurant had open air dining on the mall and much to my surprise there were no birds begging for food at the tables. As a matter of fact I saw very few birds in Denver, Very few bugs too. I did a lot of walking while my wife was in her meetings and now my "friend", "Arther Itis" is pestering me.

I was to sit my mo'opuna this week, but Topher went to work yesterday and completed the work that his boss had planned for the week so I do not have to sit this week. The whole family will be going to spend the holiday weekend in Kona. We have been doing this for the last few years now and always have a very pleasant time. We are all looking forward to this time together. I am one very lucky guy!

The volcano report is like I never left. SOS. The weather in volcano was a little voggy this morning, but it did clear up. Now it is cloudy and quite dark.

While we were waiting in Salt Lake City for our plane to Denver I saw an interesting thing. We were sitting near the gate and a girl, about 20 years old, went to the agent for reasons unknown to me. The agent looked at her boarding pass and called another agent over. The second agent had a police officer with him. The officer stayed back about 5 steps while the second agent talked to the girl. After about a minute the officer steps up to the girl, they then pick up her carry-on's and the officer takes her away. Now, those who know us, know that my wife has very good hearing and at the distance we were from the scene, she would have no trouble hearing what was going on so I turn to her and ask. Well, she had been reading and did not see or hear a thing. It was like finding out your ace in the hole is a deuce. She was sorry that she did not know what was going on as she is just as noisy as I am, although I think she would deny it.

I guess that will be it for today. I am kind of out of practice and will need to get back in the groove. Take care and may God bless all of you.

Trip Update

Aloha: Just a short note to let all of you, my faithful readers, know that my wife and I will be leaving on our trip to Denver tomorrow. That means that all you lucky people will not have to put up with me, unless I get my wife's laptop running while in Denver.

I am sitting with my mo'opuna for a short time this morning because Topher has to go to a meeting and Anakam had to go to work. As a consequences of this, I do not have to wash clothes. Talk about luck! When my wife is pau with the clothes and Topher is done with his meeting, the wife and I will have to do some last minute running around for the trip. The fun just never stops!

Rule of Law

Aloha: Here I am sitting at my computer trying to figure out just what the weather will be like in 10 minutes. Right now it is glorious but less than half an hour ago I thought it was going to be really wet. It is now 61 outside and about 10 degrees higher in the house.

Yesterday I asked a question about the "Rule of Law". Someone sent this in: Rule of Law: That individuals, persons and government shall submit to, obey and be regulated by law, and not arbitrary action by an individual or a group of individuals. I guess that makes sense. I guess in the old days if the king woke up on the wrong side of the bed strange things could happen.

Our volcano is just doing its thing. I noticed that in the Kilauea update from HVO, they will say something to the effect that 6 earthquakes were located under the summit, but when you check the earthquake site it does not show those earthquakes. I think that when the HVO, in their Kilauea update, states "located" they really mean "recorded". As in RB2S2BL quakes. (Recorded But 2 Small 2 Be Located)

It is still a sunny day so I think I will go for a short walk. I did not go to the PO yesterday so I think that is where I will go. God bless you all.

Aloha: Have you noticed that I have gotten lazy and just use "Aloha" as my opening? I have another question. What does if mean when one says "The rule of law"? Just what is the "rule of law"?

Well, here I am up in God's country and the weather keeps changing. When I got up it looked like it was going to be a cloudy, dark day. Then the sky cleared and when I checked the HVO webcam Halema'uma'u was socked in. Then the sky got cloudy and now it is sunny and bright.

We had a very pleasant evening last night. After the award ceremony we went out to eat. Unfortunately Kaiulani and Burida were not able to go with us. They had company at home so had to go straight home after the event. We were thinking of going to Ken's but decided to go the Don's instead. Anakam had her usual and I started to tease her about it until it was pointed out that I always order the same thing too.

I checked the Halema'uma'u webcams last night when we got home and saw glow from only one camera. This morning's report states that glow was recorded by both cameras. I guess they have better eyes than I do. The rest of the report is SOS. It has been three weeks since the HVO staff has been able to measure SO2 emisions. ( I just tried to do a spell check and nothing happened.)
