Aloha: Here it is another day in the life of your favorite blogger. I am in Hilo today as the wife and I will be going to the award ceremony for our daughter, Anakam, tonight. Unfortunately we will be in Denver for her graduation next week. At the end of this month all of us (The wife and I; Anakam, Topher and CJ; Kaiulani and Burida) will be going to Kona for the long weekend. We have been doing this for the past 4 or 5 years now and we always have a great time. The girls will not let me watch my news shows so these trips are very good for my blood pressure.
The weather and the volcano update for today is SOS.
I do not have the news channel on so I do not know just what our "fearless leaders" are taking away from us today. I guess no news is "good" news, but I am not so sure with this bunch in Washington. God bless all of you and may God bless America.

A Blank Mind
Aloha: Here I am up here in "God's country" with nothing of great importance to write about. A nephew of mine went to the hospital Sunday with chest pain, thankfully, it looks like acid reflux, and not heart trouble. I had a bad case on acid reflux and had to have the "scope" down the "hatch" for a look around. Now I take a little pill every day and have not had an attack in years. You can tell how old you are by the number of pills you take every day.
It looked like it was going to be a beautiful day at 6a this morning. I went for a walk at about 6:45 and the sun just disappeared, so I cut the walk short. It is now cloudy and kind on misty. The temperature on the "sunny" side of the house is 59 and I would not be surprised if that is as high as it gets.
There was glow recorded, from both webcam at Halema'uma'u, last night. That makes three days, or should I say nights, now that glow has been reported. Other than that everything else is SOS with our volcano.
Well, as Woody Woodpecker would say, "That's all folks". God bless and be good to each other.

Big Island Blogs
Aloha: I got a note in the comment section of my blog a few days ago with a link to blogs from the BI. I had no idea there were more that just a handful. It looks like I will have to spend more time reading just what other people are talking about.
Last night was rather warm up in "God's country". The wind is still blowing in the wrong direction so the air is not as clean as we would like. I am not in the habit of checking the webcams at night so did not see that the two cams at Halema'uma'u showed a glow. The webcam on ML shows that most of winter's snow is gone.
The HVO reports that tremor is up but other than that everything else is SOS. As I said earlier the wind is not blowing in the correct direction so the SO2 has not been measured since April 15th.
Topher is off this weed but I had to come to Hilo to get new lenses for my glasses. I will be down again on Wednesday for the award ceremony for Anakam. Next Sunday the wife and I will be going to Denver for her user conference. I will have trouble posting while there so I guess you all will luck out.

Lazy Me
Aloha: When we got back from Hilo yesterday I was just too lazy to write about anything. The day was beautiful yesterday up here in God's country. How would I know if I was in Hilo most of the day, you may ask? Well, the temperature in the house when we got home was 80. That's right, 80 degrees! Inside the house is usually 10 degrees warmer then outside so on a sunny day it can get really hot in the house. It is about noon here in volcano on this beautiful Sunday, and it is 64 on the porch and 73 in the house. I hope it does not get any hotter this afternoon.
There has been no real change in our volcano for the last few days. It would be nice if the wind would pick up so that the air would clear up.
Tomorrow I have to go into Hilo to get new lenses put in my glasses. Next week Sunday the wife and I leave to go to Denver. I checked the weather in Denver and it looks like it is about the same as here in Volcano.

What are they thinking????
Aloha: As most of you know I listen and "watch" the news as I check mail and do other things on the computer, including doing this blog. Well, Congress, in their infinite wisdom, is now in the process of debating whether or not we should have a national championships for college football. Hey, look at that, Obama just interrupted the press briefing to announce that Justice Suitter is stepping down.
When I got up this morning it looked like it was going to be a bad day for a walk. Now the sun is shinning. It is still below 60 outside. I hope to be able to go to the PO this afternoon.
The volcano is doing its thing. The excitement of two days ago has diminished. I have looked at the webcam over the vent and the pictures taken at night are very grainy. RB2S2BL quakes have returned to background levels. SO2 levels have not been updated since "tax day" because the plume is not blowing over the sensors. My feeling is that this is going to go on well after I am dead, not that I am planning on departing any time soon. The earth measures time on a very different scale then we do.
Tomorrow the wife and I will have to go into Hilo early to pick up breakfast from some sort of fundraiser. My wife gets tickets every year.
